Apoka Lodge

The only lodge in Kidepo Valley National Park, Apoka Lodge sits in the middle of this vastness. Strategically placed near the river, the lodge is an ideal base from which to explore the park and view its inhabitants. The Main part of the lodge consists of a dining room, bar and sitting room with plenty of lounge space and a swimming pool. The furnishings are handmade by local craftsmen and the décor takes its cue from the rocks, the savannah and the landscape.

The 10 expansive rooms are built with canvas and wood walls and thatched roofs. They surround a rocky kopje with endless views across the savannah. With inside sitting rooms and private verandas there are plenty of places to relax. Big hand-hewn beds with soft duvets are draped with mosquito nets and hand-woven woolen carpets decorate the wooden floors. Each room has its own ensuite bathroom with double sink and large tropical shower. Water is heated by solar power and there is plenty of it. Outside on a sheltered terrace is a private outdoor stone bathtub, big enough to fit the whole family. All rooms have electric lights and power points.
