The MOH announced today, 16 Feb 2022, that the mandatory Covid-19 testing of all incoming travelers at Entebbe International Airport has been stopped effective from today.
The suspension of this testing was due to the decline in positive cases identified at the airport and the reduction in global threat of new variants of concern and the risk of these increasing community transmission in Uganda.
However, the requirement for Ocvid-19 testing 72 hours prior to boarding both incoming and exiting flights remains in effects and health workers at the airport will continue to screen all travelers on arrival and departure for negative PCR covid-19 test certificates.
