High in the clouds on the Nteko Ridge at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the views are breathtaking. In the shadow of the Virunga Volcanoes, you'll find the welcoming and luxurious Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge. 

A first in Uganda, this lodge was built as a partnership between the Nkuringo Community Development Fund (NCDF), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Wildplaces and the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) through the International Gorilla Conservation Programme. While the lodge ultimately protects the natural habitat of the mountain gorilla, Clouds also directly benefits the community of Nkuringo, who also have a significant stake in the venture.

Ten stone cottages each have fireplaces, soft armchairs and warm duvets, while the main lodge and library foster an atmosphere to gather and reflect. The chef and kitchen serve excellent meals made using produce from the on-site garden and served with good wine. Outside, the property boasts lush gardens and sheltered verandas with views to the volcanoes. Activities include mountain biking along the ridge, walks in the forest reserve, visits to the local community village and gorilla tracking. Relax with an in-room massage after gorilla trekking.
